Factory aluminum pushrods on Twin Cam engines tend to flex under sustained valve spring pressure. On higher-mile motors, this usually shows up as light valvetrain noise that changes with RPM. Over time, that movement shifts actual valve timing and adds mechanical instability in the top end.

Pushrod Deflection Under Load
Factory aluminum pushrods start to flex slightly when spring pressure builds, especially on engines that have seen long-term use or higher RPM operation. Riders often notice this as a faint ticking noise that comes and goes depending on load.
The Cycparts chromoly pushrods hold their shape under that same pressure range. By keeping the pushrod length stable through the stroke, the lifter and rocker geometry stays consistent across the RPM band.
Hardened O-Rings and Oil Seepage
After enough heat cycles, the factory O-rings lose elasticity and start to flatten. You’ll often see oil film forming down the rear cylinder after a ride, especially on Twin Cam motors in the 06–17 range.
This kit replaces all 12 sealing points. Fresh O-rings restore the sealing surface between tube sections and keep oil return contained inside the pushrod tunnel instead of migrating down the cases.
Debris Entry into Lifter Area
Once the pushrod cover gets dented, misaligned, or worn at the tube joints, the valvetrain is no longer fully sealed. Fine road grit can mix with oil return and eventually work its way down toward the lifter blocks.
